Patterson Makes It Three For Three

After a week off due to everyone’s favorite Mother, Nature that is, another night of point racing for the 2015 season got underway at 6:45 PM with temperatures in the low 80’s and a gusty breeze from the northwest. Even though mid-week and previous day’s rain put the night’s action in question, the track was race-ready and very raceable with three and sometimes four-wide action.

The first order of business this week, as was the last time we raced, was to honor the last races’ (April 11th) A Feature winners with their trophies and photo taking on the pass through in front of the grandstands after the pre-race ceremonies of the invocation and the national anthem.

Heat racing action for all 61 cars took to the track at the 7 PM mark and were ran without too many cautions taking the grandstand crowd on hand to intermission at 8 PM. The intermission break, not only gave everyone a chance to stretch their legs and get some of the awesome concession stand food, but tonight was the first of five bicycle race nights for the kids. Unfortunately, we did not get the names of the race winners. But, one lucky boy, Syler Barker, and one lucky girl, Kelsey Smith, each walked away with a free bicycle donated by Menasco Racing Enterprises.

The Front Wheel Drives ran a Dash for Cash with Brian Parmenter (308) crossing the finish line ahead of Tom Paulson (4 – Spiro, OK) and Roger Rusher (3 – Ozark, AR).

The first A Feature action was for the Pure Stocks with Wesley Bourne (5 – Cameron, OK) taking home the trophy over Dennis Slader (19 – Muskogee, OK) while Chris Perkins (88 – Rudy, AR) rounded out the top three.

The Factory/I Stocks A Feature saw Chris Patterson (48 – Muldrow, OK) taking home the winner’s money for the third time in a row. Dalton Ragsdale (22 – Muskogee, OK) finished second and Kris Vaughn (45 – Pocola, OK) in third.

In the Super Stock A Feature competition, Kyle Slader (19S – Muskogee, OK) took home the win as Gene Davlin (26 – Shady Point, OK) finished ahead of last week’s winner, Neil Johnson (17 – Fort Smith, AR) in third.

The next A Feature on the track was the IMCA Sport Mods where Aaron Scroggins (1/4 – Neosho, MO) picked up his second feature win of the season, while Ken McCarty (1 – Rogers, AR) and Todd Broyles (09 – Farmington, AR) rounded out the top three.

The IMCA Modifieds A Feature rounded out the night’s racing with Casey Lindell (18 – Porter, OK) taking home the big money over Tate Cole (89 – Fort Gibson, OK) in second and Brent Holman (17 – Rogers, AR) in third.
