2019 NexGen Rules
All drivers will be required to register with Tri-State Speedway to be eligible to receive points and/or pay for regular nights and/or special events, excluding touring series that handle their own points and/or payouts.
2019 clarifications and changes are in red.
COMPETITORS ALLOWED
- No drivers who placed in the top 10 in final point standings in any division in 2018
- No driver with feature wins in any division at TSS from 2017 to present
- TSS may prohibit any driver from competing in this division at the Officials’ discretion
- Drivers under the age of 18 must have a parent present and complete a minor release form
VEHICLES ALLOWED
- No race cars permitted - Stock cars only; 2 door or 4 door
- No convertibles, trucks, SUV’s or Jeep type vehicles
- No 4 wheel drive vehicles
- Front wheel drives (4, 6, or 8 cylinder) are OK
VEHICLE RULES
- Cars with a minimum 108” wheel base only
- Minimum 4 point full roll cage required
- Steel bar on driver door is required
- Gutting of factory interior panels allowed only for roll cage clearance
- Inner door bracing may be removed to replace with door bars
- All doors must be welded or bolted shut
- Windshield must be removed
- Screen or bars installed in place of windshield is required
- Racing 5-point shoulder harness with lap belt are required
- Race seat 5-point or better required
- Mesh window nets are permitted and must be removable
- Driver side window net is required
- All burnable material (i.e. floor mats, head liners, seats, etc.) must be removed
- The rear seat shelf must remain in place as a fire stop
- Any openings to the trunk area must be enclosed
- Properly attached fuel cells may be located in the trunk
- Stock gas tank is OK
- No bracing in the bumper areas
- Bumper to bumper steel uni-body must be retained
- No cutting, chopping, channeling, or shortening allowed
- No lightening permitted
- No additional weight may be added
- The stock steel unaltered floor pan, firewalls, trunk and wheel wells must be retained
- Cars must retain their stock appearance
- Hoods must be kept in place at all times
- Suspension parts must remain stock for that make and model
- No alternation to stock suspenion (i.e. no spacers, lumber, chains or straps etc.)
- DOT tires only - No DOT stamped racing tires
- No truck tires - No treated tires
- The engine must be strictly stock for the make and model
- Original engine mounts must be utilized
- No after market external oil coolers
- A/C and heat comp may be removed
- Smog equipment may be removed
- Air cleaner to oil pan must be all factory equipment
- Stock transmission and rearend only
- No locked rearends
- All transmissions lines must be covered or run outside of drivers area
- Must use factory wheels
- Only one radiator can be used
- Radiator must remain in original position
- No coolant or gas lines in driver area
- Fuel cells permitted and may be placed in trunk area if securely fastened
- Batteries may be relocated in a secure fastened covered plastic or rubber container
- All plastic grills must be removed or replaced with screen mesh
- Headlights, tail lights and outer trim must be removed
- Side and rear window glass must be removed
- All side mirrors and rear view mirrors must be removed
- No mirrors are allowed
ADDITIONAL SAFETY RULES
- A repture of gas tank and or loss of gas will warrant an immediate black flag
- Approved helmet, gloves and fire suit are required
- Up to date fire extinguisher must be secured within driver’s reach
