2013 TRI-STATE SPEEDWAY ECONOMY MODIFIED RULES

IMCA SPORT MODS MAY RUN UNDER IMCA SPORT MOD RULES WITH THIS CLASS.

USRA MODIFIED RULES APPLY WITH THESE EXCEPTIONS:

SAFETY

Please refer to General Rules for safety, fuel cell, and additional information.

BODY AND ELIGIBILITY

  1. Weight 2500 lbs. with car and driver after race.
  2. See diagram below for panel and body dimensions which will apply to this class.

  3. Driver’s floor must be made of 16-gauge steel or aluminum.
  4. 3" or 6" maximum spoiler optional.

      ENGINE

      1. No mismatching of engine parts. GM to GM and Ford to Ford, etc.
      2. Engines allowed:
        a. GM—360 Maximum cubic inch with GM block and stock stroke 3.50 crank (max). Flat top pistons. No 400 blocks.
        b. Ford 361 (351 block and stroke). Must use OEM parts only. No SVO or W2 performance parts allowed.
        c. Mopar must use OEM parts only.
      3. Heads: OEM cast-iron heads or SR & GM Vortec heads allowed. The world products part/casting #I-052, I-058, and E Q Vortec 906 Heads are the only legal after-market head allowed. 2.02” intake and 1.60” exhaust valves maximum. Angle milling OK. Flat milling OK. Double hump heads OK. No bow tie heads. All other aftermarket heads are illegal. No aluminum heads. 23-degree heads only. No angle plugs allowed. No porting or polishing of heads or intake. No match porting of intake to heads.
      4. Camshaft: .480” at valve with .030 lash. Roller rockers allowed. No roller camshafts or lifters. No bleed-down lifters.
      5. Carburetor: 750 CFM maximum.
      6. Headers: Must run 1-5/8” headers only.
      7. No aluminum parts except intake manifold, pulleys, valve covers, radiators, and water pump.
      8. NOTE: Any aluminum intake allowed. Any pull bar is allowed. No aluminum oil pan.
      9. Ignition: MSD ignition allowed with $500 claim on complete system. (See Gear/Chip section and Claim section below.) No mag-type distributors.
      10. Alcohol or racing fuel OK. No additives.
      11. Belt-driven fuel pump OK — for example, KSE mounted pump.

      GEAR / CHIP RULE

      1. If car is equipped with a MSD box (that will accept a chip), it must run a 7,000 RPM chip or less. (See Drive Train rules below.) MSD Box cannot be mounted in reach of driver.
      2. If car is NOT equipped with a MSD box or MSD box cannot accept a chip, must have a final driver gear of 5.14 of less.

      DRIVE TRAIN

      1. Transmission: Stock Type or Aftermarket OK.
      2. Bert or Brinn: Total weight 2550 lbs. Must run 7000 RPM chip or 5.14 gear or less if not able to run chip.
      3. If running 3 or 4 speed transmission and mini clutch: Total weight 2500 lbs and can run up to 7400 RPM chip or 5.14 gear or less if not able to run chip.
      4. If running automatic with hub: Total weight 2500 lbs must run 7000 RMP chip or 5.14 gear or less if not able to run chip.
      5. If running automatic with 10" torque converter: Total weight 2500 lbs can run 7400 RPM chip or 5.14 gear or less if not able to run chip.
      6. Explosion proof bell housing is mandatory.

              SUSPENSION, TIRES, ETC.

              1. Shocks: NO Schrader Valve shocks.  NO adjustable shocks. (See Shock Claim section below.)
              2. Tires/Wheels: Hoosier asphalt take offs, or IMCA takeoffs, OK.  No recaps. Steel wheel only.  10" maximum.  Bead Lock on right rear only.  NO NEW TIRES. Grooving is allowed.
              3. Rear-end: Three or four link suspension is OK.

                PROTEST RULE
                Protest fee is $150 per item protested.

                1. Driver protesting must finish on lead lap to protest car.
                2. Protest must be in writing, with what is being protested, money in hand and turned in prior to A-feature race taking the track to head tech official.
                3. Driver making protest must be present while item is being protested. Crew members of protesting party are not allowed into the tech area.
                4. If protested driver is found legal $100 of the money goes to the protested car, $50 into the point’s fund. If the car is found illegal, the driver loses points and money earned for that night. The protester gets the $100 back. $50 going into the point’s fund.

                        SHOCK CLAIM
                        Shock Claim is $50 per shock, must buy all four ($200.)

                        1. Claiming driver must finish in on the lead lap and finish the race to claim.
                        2. Only top four finishers are allowed to be claimed.
                        3. Claim must be turned in to head tech official within five (5) minutes of A-feature completion.
                        4. Claim made by cash money only and must be turned in at time of claim.
                        5. Refusal to sell is a $500 penalty, with money going into the points fund.

                                  TECH

                                  1. Three Wins: Any driver that wins three races within one racing season will go through an extensive technical inspection, which could include but is not limited to bumper-to-bumper inspection. (In layman’s terms, if you are cheating we will find it).
                                  2. Track reserves the right to change or amend any rule at any time.
                                  3. No creative interpretation of rules. If you have questions, call us before you are disqualified.
                                  4. FINAL NOTES: Drivers, if it does NOT say it, that doesn't mean you can do it. Call the track’s TECH before you do anything to your cars that might be questionable.

                                          ALL RULES (OR INTERPRETATION THEREOF) WILL BE DETERMINED BY TRACK OFFICIALS. ALL TRACK OFFICIALS WILL HAVE THE RIGHT TO CHECK YOUR CAR AT ANYTIME, FOR ANY REASON. ALL TRACK OFFICIALS’ DECISIONS ARE FINAL.
